SAHAJ SAMADHI MEDITATION His holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar describes meditation as an “appointment with the self”; it’s like looking into a mirror, for meditation is the delicate art of letting go off all one’s efforts so as to reach a state of complete rest and tranquillity. It is the deepest relaxation. “Sahaj” means “natural” and “Samadhi” means the “highest state of meditation, which is our very nature”. So this meditation technique which is unique to the Art of Living, literally means “effortless transcendence”. This is very apt, as Sahaj Samadhi requires no concentration, and yet enables us to glide us into a deep meditative state quite effortlessly. It is a natural, graceful system of meditation that has ancient roots. Sahaj Samadhi is delightfully simple, yet powerful process that allows us to experience the depth of Being. The mind settles down, lets go off all stress and tension, centres itself in the present moment… and we profound silence and inner bliss. Once learnt, just a few minutes of daily practice brings about a joyous flowering at every level of our existence. |
