CURE FROM CORONARY HEART DISEASE
"Twameva Mata cha pita twameva
Twameva bandhuscha sakha twameva
Twameva Vidya dravinam twameva
Twameva sarvam mama devadeva"
This is an extract of Gandhari's prayer to Krishna from the" Pandava
Gita" To me the last line ought to be read as "Twameva sarvam mama Gurudeva"
I am confident that everyone who reads this amazing healing experience
will concur with me.
Fifty six year old Sri N. Duraiswamy, Manager of Bank of Baroda,
Coimbatore Main Branch is a very active official of the Bank and known
for his extrovert personality. In 1995, when he went for a check up for
chest pain, it was found that he had 2 blocks of 60% in his Left
Coronary Artery and with it he was also suffering from High Blood
Pressure. The Doctors assured that the blocks could be dilated without
surgery and prescribed some drugs. He continued his medicines but
unfortunately being a chain smoker and his inability to quit smoking the
condition persisted.
In the year 2003, while he was working at Perundurai, ( Perundurai is100
Kms from Coimbatore) he attended the Part I Course conducted by Sri.
K.R.Damotharan and was bowled over by the "Sudarshan Kriya". Within days
after the course he quit smoking and enrolled himself as an active
volunteer. He was spreading the awareness about the course in and around
Perundurai. Within a short span of time he attended Part II Course, DSN,
Sahaj Samadhi Meditation and arranged Satsangs in Perundurai.
Sometimes difficulties crop up in the life of someone who is devoted and
friendly. Sri. Duraiswamy was not an exception. In August 2004 he had
severe chest pain and the Angiogram showed something very shocking. His
Right Coronary Artery has been non-dominant from birth itself and the
entire blood supply for the heart was through the Left Coronary Artery
and it had two blocks of more than 70% and a By-Pass Surgery was the
only solution.
Before the By-Pass Surgery there were some anxious moments. His was "O"
Negative Blood Group and to arrange a live donor became very
difficult, besides to pay the hospital fee instantly was also quite
impossible. He just prayed to Guruji and immediately a colleague from
the Bank responded to donate blood and the Hospital fee too was arranged
by a volunteer from Perundurai.
The pinnacle of our Art of Living Course enables us to identify and
separate pain and suffering. Sri Duraiswamy removed the suffering from
the mind and with a cheerful smiling face he underwent the By–Pass
Surgery. The treatment did not last long. Within two months of his
By-pass Surgery, Sri.Duraiswamy felt more pain in the chest followed by
inability to walk for even three minutes. He went back to the Hospital
took an Angiogram and to his dismay found that the two grafted blood
vessels had become stenosis (narrowing of Blood Vessels) to the extent
of 70% and 50%. The blocks in the Left Coronary Artery had become 90%.
The Cardiac- Surgeon who operated on him suggested that as it was not
possible to conduct another By-Pass Surgery within
a year, going for an Angioplasty on the Left Coronary Artery using
Stents was the only solution. Considering the high risk involved
Sri.Duraiswamy shifted his residence to Coimbatore and was about to give
up hope and it was at this time, Gurudev's grace fell on him in the form
of Smt.Shanthi Shivabalan an active volunteer of Art of Livng, who took
him to Dr. J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, Prof and Head of Department Cardiology
PSG Hospital Coimbatore. The Doctor initially suggested Angioplasty and
seeing Sri.Duraiswami's reluctance to undergo the procedure, the Doctor
took the initiative and started the first phase of treatment fully
supported by Pranayama, "Sudarshan Kriya" and Zero oil diet for 2
months. The first review itself gave very positive results. The patient
had become bright and was able to walk for fifteen minutes without
difficulty. The same routine was repeated for another two months. To
quantify the improvement he was asked to do the treadmill. The Doctor
was surprised to see Sri. Duraiswamy doing the treadmill walk for more
than 12 minutes without difficulty. A person just only a few months ago,
could not even walk for more than three minutes is able to do the
treadmill was just astounding for the Doctor. Sri.Duraiswamy was put on
drugs which could stabilize his condition, but the Doctor attributes
this much of rapid improvement within this short period of time to "Sudarshan
Kriya" It has made the patient's mind and body better. For the past 10
months Sri Doraiswamy, has been rapidly progressing and regularly
attending his work in the Bank. He is now a regular volunteer at
Coimbatore.
I met Dr. J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, who told me it was just another miracle
cure and in his words "Scientific Methodology of treatment supported by
yogic practices like "Sudarshan Kriya" has an excellent impact on the
outcome of any physical and mental disorder"
I conclude this experience sharing with a small prayer to my beloved
Gurudev. from "Jnana Pana" (Pot of Knowledge). a Malayalam collection
of Poems by Sri.Poonthanam Namboothri written some four hundred years
ago.
"Guru Nathan thuna cheiga sanththam, Thiru namangal navin mel eppozhum,
Piriyathe irikkanam nammude, Nara janmam saphala makkeduvan"
"I request , for the grace from my Guru without fail, So that Lord's
holy names are always on my tongue, And continue to be there forever
without change, So that our, this human birth becomes most fruitful."
Jaigurudev.
